Artist’s Statement
Like my daily practice of walking in nature, I find the process of creating art similarly meditative. By taking each activity one step at a time, with no concern – or plan - for my destination in either experience, I remain grounded in the moment. I love collecting specimens, mementos, and images, thinking and pondering, and then launching into the hands-on aspect of making art when the spirit moves me.
I have been painting and creating art since I was in first grade. Over time, my art has evolved. I have pursued printmaking as a formal contemporary medium. I’ve had 12 solo shows and participated in over 50 juried shows throughout New England and the USA, and have received numerous awards and grants for my work.
Surrounded by a garden setting, my studio is located in the heart of the Monadnock Region of New Hampshire and is equipped with an etching press, four separate work stations and a small viewing gallery.
For me art is a journey to feed the soul. CV
